Putting teeth into your synopsis

It's always amazing what editors will like or hate. Honestly, I don't always get it right, and I'll get a note from my editor saying something like, "doesn't that make him seem so unsympathetic?" For me, in scripting the synopsis, I tend to use the analogy of teeth v. fangs. I want it (my story, character, etc) to have teeth, but I've got to retract the fangs. When you really dig deep into your characters motivations, you'll always find a way to reframe them.
