A reverberation felt around the world: Sadly...so sadly...TOM CLANCY has passed away at the young age of 66. I hate to use a cliché for a man who was all about breaking new ground with his military espionage thrillers, but I will: He's gone but NEVER will he be forgotten. How can he be?
and his blockbuster movies, such as
have pierced the souls of every household.
I think it's safe to say that even if you aren't a fan of Tom Clancy--never read one of his books, sampled one of his movies, or played one of his video games--the proliferation of his intelligence throughout the world makes him familiar to all. Because his works are the sort to be savored time and again, I doubt major distributors will ever let us forget him. Neither will Tom Clancy let us forget him: His uncanny clairvoyance with political and military world events (that even Tom Clancy himself found eerie) will continue to haunt us, long after perhaps his last book, Command Authority, and next movie, Shadow One (with his most famous character Jack Ryan back at the helm) are released this December.
I (Lisa Potocar, a huge fan) will never forget him. Please join me in a moment of silence in honor of one of the greatest masters of storytelling...
May Tom Clancy rest in peace!
